On my previous post TraceyTreasure left the following comment:
Does your MIL really hate you? Do they live with you?
I’m learning so much about you but I guess after reading this, I have a lot to learn!
I thought I would take a moment to answer this.
No the In-laws don’t live with us. And yes she really doesn’t like me. I am not catholic (any more), Polynesian or a baby machine. Her problem, not mine. We have however, learned to be decent to each other over the years.
My grandparents do live with us. We get along just fine.
So this has me motivated, I am pulling a Fiery and opening up this as a open forum post.
Anybody want to know anything about or from Poodles?
Ask away.

You are so brave, you know, I can be very nosey! Okay, here goes, How long have they lived with you? I think it’s great that you share your house with them. I don’t have any fond memories of grandparents or close family in general so I want that for my kids.
Mind me asking about kids? Any in your future? You can delete this if you don’t want to answer! It’s none of my business anyway!
Now that I know that you’re a Jazz fan, would you mind if I still root for the Suns? Ha ha ha!
That’s all I have for now! Thanks so much! You can tell me to bugger off if you don’t want these questions! Have a great week! Hugs!
Hi Tracey,
Here is what you asked, my answers are bolded.
You are so brave, you know, I can be very nosey! Okay, here goes, How long have they lived with you? We lived with them for a long time, after my grandfather got diagnosed with prostate cancer and my grandmother had knee replacement surgery within a few months of each other to help them out, several years ago we bought their house so they wouldn’t have a house payment anymore and my grandfather could quit working.
I think it’s great that you share your house with them. I don’t have any fond memories of grandparents or close family in general so I want that for my kids.
Mind me asking about kids? We don’t have any kids Any in your future? Nope, I am not a kids kind of person. I have always known this, and I had a hysterectomy about 3 years ago.
You can delete this if you don’t want to answer! It’s none of my business anyway! No worries, this is pretty well known information about me.
Honestly, I don’t follow sports much. Ha ha ha!
Now that I know that you’re a Jazz fan, would you mind if I still root for the Suns? GO JAZZ!!!
That’s all I have for now! Thanks so much! You can tell me to bugger off if you don’t want these questions! Have a great week! Hugs!
You are so awesome! Big hugs, Poodles! I think it’s awesome what you are doing for your grandparents! I don’t follow sports much either. I do like me some D-backs though! Go Suns, Go Jazz! Go have a great week! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing with me! As usual, I appreciate your honesty!
I’m sorry that your MIL isn’t like mine was. I was prego when I met mine. She didn’t care that I’d only known her son for 6 months. All she cared about was a.) I loved her son and b.) I was nice to her. That’s all she cared about! She loved me and considered me family from the get-go! Your MIL is missing out on a great woman! Big hugs Poodles!
Pulled a Fiery – priceless.
Okay here’s my question:
American or French mustard on your hotdog?
I’m getting a reputation. I love it!!!!!!
Sean the horn dog asking about hot dogs, maybe she likes corn dogs!!!!!
I suppose if I said “nothing beats a nice thick wiener between yer buns” that people would take that the wrong way.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!
Say- Poodles. I was wonderin’. Does the Hulk peruse our blogs much? Read over your shoulder? Or is he indifferent to the whole blogging world.
And how’s the wee pup? his pic at the top is just the whole cutest, sweetest, awwwwwwwww.
Sean… I like Ketchup or fry sauce. I’m not a huge mustard fan.
Fiery… I like corn dogs too. With Ketchup.
The hulk is pretty much indifferent. He only gets on the computer to check football scores and play an occasional game.
The wee pup is doing great. He gets more shots this saturday, then hopefully gets fixed next month. He is in puppy kindergarten right now, and he is freakisly smart, but I might be biased.
How did you and or the Hulk end up in Utah, of all places. Utah is an unusual place for a non Morman Polynesian to end up. Do tell.
Joe…
My grandparents moved here when my mom was 17 from New York. My grandfather worked in mining and milling and his boss sent him to run a shop out here. When I was little he fell at work and crushed both ankles, it was then the doctors learned he had lead poisoning. That all ended his career in mining, but they stayed anyway. So, I was born here.
The Hulks family emmigrated here because his mom has a lot of family here some of whom are LDS converts and the LDS church helped move them here. His family remained Catholic. He got here when he was 20 years old.
I had always hoped to leave Utah, but that has never worked out for us.
Hi Poodles, thats great that you live with your grandparents, just wondering what sort of house you live in, are you sort of living in each others pockets, or is it a big house where you can sort of be together, but also separate.
I looked after my Dad for a while before he died and I remember the generation gap was a little hard to handle
Hi TTeyes!
We don’t live in a huge house but it isn’t too small either. It is about 2000 sq feet. It is a 2 story rambler, a top floor and a basement. 4 bed 2 bath 2 living rooms one kitchen. Not too bad.
We are very lucky in that we all get along really well. If it were my mom I was living with I would probably have wanted to kill her by now. But I get along great with the grandparents.
What’s your favorite place in Utah?
Hi T&A,
My most favorite place in Utah is Fish Lake. I think I was always fascinated by learning about it’s origins. I also think it is just beautiful. We used to vacation there every summer when I was a kid.
I started and stopped typing so many times, it looked like I was stuttering.
You have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was wondering how much that affects your life?
As you know, I think I told you about my youngest brother, he had it starting at around 16 mo. of age. He passed at 29. He was VERY crippled with it. I hope you are getting along okay, I would not wish that on anyone.
Hi Tina,
So far I am doing pretty good. It mostly affects my legs and feet. But the drugs I am on are working well, but I do want to get off of the prednisone, I really hate that drug.
I’m lucky in that I have a really great doctor. He gives me all of the meds I require.
I don’t wish it on anyone either
