Friday morning while the rest of the world was killing people at Walmart for cheap DVD’s the Hulk and I headed up to Idaho Falls. We got up there early so we could do a bit of exploring through the town. The last time we had been there was in 2003 when we went through it on the way to and from Great Falls Montana for a football game. It has grown quite a bit. It was a nice stay and the exhibit was wonderful. It was mostly stuff like pottery, jewelry, huge pieces of wall with hieroglyphs, and mummified kittens. All the fun things you would expect from an Egyptian art exhibit.
Unfortunately they didn’t allow cameras or even cell phones into the museum, so you will have to take my word for how spectacularly nerdy it was for me.
We did have a great room at the Red Lion right on the river. I got some pictures out on our balcony, and along the river.
It was really gorgeous on the river.
This one was taken from the bank where I thought the Hulk would fall in…
And we also got a view of the LDS Temple, including the Ward in front of the temple (can you say “overkill?”).
Saturday we came home. It was a nice little get away.

Oh Poodles! I am so happy you made the trip. I kinda figured they wouldn’t allow pictures to be taken inside the exhibit.
The pictures look wonderful, what kind of camera did you use, if I may ask?
Also, because I’m from the midwest and not in contact with mormons (and too lazy to google it), what is a “Ward”?
Thanks for sharing, and I hope you did indeed enjoy yourselves!
I’m sad you couldn’t take pictures! I knew I should have jumped in the car and followed you there!! LOL!!
Hey, come by and get your award!!
You deserve it!!
Hugs!!
Hi David. A Ward is just what they call a mormon church.
My camera is a Panazonic Lumix FZ18. I love it, it takes good pictures for a digital camera, and it has an idiot button function.
Thank you Poodles, now I’m “in the know!”
I need a camera with an idiot button, LOL.
That LDS temple looks like they chopped off the top of the Empire State Building and painted it white.
