Who is Poodles

Hi!  I’m Poodles.  I live in Salt Lake Utah.  I am NOT a mormon.  I am an atheist.

I began my journey to atheism during high school.  I guess that means I have been an atheist for about 20 years now, I am 38 years old.  I was a catholic.  I wanted to become a better catholic so I could help a friend convert to catholicism.  I learned a lot while trying to learn about my religion.  I mostly learned that all religions stem from the same tree of mythology, mixed with a need for control.  I realized it was all crap.

I began writing a purely personal blog back in 2001.  I started a mostly atheist blog in 2007, when I decided to move to wordpress from blogger I realized I wanted people to have a more personal view of an atheist.  So I left most of the ranting behind and decided to give people a glimpse into the everyday mundane life of an atheist.  I want people to see that I am mostly like everyone else.  Being an atheist is nothing more than a lack of belief in any of the deities conjured up by man.  Beyond that, I have a family (no kids though), I have a life that is pretty boring and I have struggles and troubles like everyone else.

I still come up with an atheist themed post now and again, but mostly I want to bore people with how average my life is.

I chose the name Poodles after using my real first name for a while, I realized that was a bad idea.  I had two poodles at the time, besides, it’s kind of sweet (nothing like me).

I was born and raised here, I went to college at the University of Utah, I have a BFA in Theater Education and a minor in sociology.  I work in medical insurance, go figure.

I am married to “The Hulk”. We have 3 dogs, I used to have 2 poodles, now I have a poodle, a lab mix and a “Shit Chi”.
